Confident City Rider – Private Road Safety Lesson (Bike & E-Bike Friendly)

$430.00

Confident City Rider – Private Lesson (3 to 3.5 hours)

Build real confidence riding on Sydney streets | $430

Ready to take the next step in your riding journey?
Whether you're planning to commute to work or uni, accompany your kids to school, try shopping by bike, or ride more often on local streets—this session will give you the skills, confidence and experience to ride with ease.

Our Confident City Rider private lesson is for people who already know how to ride a bike but want to feel safer, more prepared, and more confident when riding on-road. This one-on-one session is fully tailored to your needs, your goals, and your style of riding.

We specialise in supportive, trauma-aware instruction—ideal for anybody who’s had a negative or scary riding experience in the past and wants to rebuild confidence at their own pace.

What’s Included

  • 3 to 3.5 hours of private instruction with a qualified, experienced instructor

  • Begins in a quiet, traffic-free location to refine bike control and cover essential road theory

  • Continues with a guided ride on local streets to apply your skills in real traffic conditions

  • Real-time coaching on lane positioning, signalling, navigating intersections, and riding predictably

  • Support with gear use, sudden braking, and calm responses under pressure

  • Tips on choosing safe routes, even where infrastructure is limited

  • Guidance on Sydney’s bike network, shared paths, and quiet streets

This session is perfect if:

  • You're planning to ride to work, uni, the shops, or around your neighbourhood

  • You’re supporting your child or teen to ride to school

  • You’ve had a bad experience on a bike and want help feeling safe again

  • You feel anxious in traffic or want to build skills without pressure

  • You’ve just bought a bike or e-bike and want to ride it with confidence

  • You want a genuinely tailored experience—not a group course or basic overview

What You'll Learn

  • Safe and confident braking, including how to stop suddenly without panic

  • Smooth gear shifting for starts, hills, and traffic flow

  • Navigating roundabouts, parked cars, and intersections

  • Road positioning for visibility and comfort

  • How to stay calm and confident in real-world traffic

  • How to choose safer routes—even without formal bike lanes

  • Habits that build trust in your own skills and judgement

Equipment

We recommend bringing your own roadworthy bike.
A bike and helmet may be available at additional cost—please contact us in advance to check availability. Your instructor will guide you through a simple safety check and help ensure the setup suits your comfort and riding needs.

Booking Information

  • Cost: $430 (flat rate for a private one-on-one session)

  • Duration: 3 to 3.5 hours

  • Location: Inner West Sydney and surrounds, with suggested meeting points based on your goals and ability

Acknowledgement of Country

Pedal Set Go acknowledges the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, work, and ride. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the many lands we travel through.

We recognise that for over 65,000 years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have welcomed visitors to Country through ceremony — often offering safe passage, guidance, and spiritual protection. While only Traditional Custodians can deliver a Welcome to Country, as non-Indigenous people we acknowledge this enduring tradition with deep respect.

In that spirit, we honour the continuing connection First Nations peoples have to land, waters, skies, and culture — and we commit to creating riding experiences that are safe, inclusive, and grounded in respect for Country and community.
