Family Bike Skills Session (Off-Road)

$440.00

Learn to ride together with confidence and calm

Our Family Bike Skills Session is a private, off-road cycling lesson for families who want to build confidence, refresh their skills, and enjoy riding safely together. Whether you're new to riding or just want to feel more prepared as a group, this session is tailored to suit your family’s pace and ability.

We keep things practical, fun, and inclusive—no sporty pressure, just support to help everybody ride well and feel safe.

What to Expect

Each session includes a mix of instruction, games, and real-life skills practice. We’ll focus on what your family needs most, which may include:

  • Simple bike safety checks (the ABCs—easy for kids and adults to remember)

  • Starting and stopping safely, including sudden braking

  • Riding on different surfaces and footpaths

  • Signalling, looking behind, and riding with awareness

  • Using gears (if applicable)

  • Keeping safe distances and riding in a line

  • Understanding road rules for footpath and shared path use

  • Optional confidence-building activities and challenges

We work through instruction, demonstration, and practice—always adapting to your family’s age range, energy, and learning pace.

Who It’s For

  • Up to 4 participants, including at least one adult

  • All participants must be able to pedal independently (no training wheels)

  • Ideal for families with school-age kids or teens

  • Larger families or friend groups can enquire for a custom session

  • Please note: When participants have very different skill levels, we will pace the session to suit the least experienced rider

What You’ll Need

  • Bring your own bikes and helmets for all participants

  • Please ensure bikes are in safe working condition—we’ll guide you through a quick safety check at the start

  • Water bottles and weather-appropriate clothing recommended

  • We teach at off-road locations such as parks or sports courts in Sydney’s Inner West (specific locations arranged on booking)

Duration & Cost

  • Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours

    • The exact session time depends on the age, stamina, and attention span of your group

  • Cost: $440 for up to 4 participants

  • Larger groups by request (additional fees apply)

Why Book a Family Session?

  • Learn or refresh skills together, in a low-pressure environment

  • Get tools to support your kids in building safe, independent riding habits

  • Understand how to guide your child’s riding without frustration

  • Strengthen confidence, communication and enjoyment on two wheels

  • Enjoy time outside, learning something practical as a family

Acknowledgement of Country

Pedal Set Go acknowledges the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, work, and ride. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the many lands we travel through.

We recognise that for over 65,000 years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have welcomed visitors to Country through ceremony — often offering safe passage, guidance, and spiritual protection. While only Traditional Custodians can deliver a Welcome to Country, as non-Indigenous people we acknowledge this enduring tradition with deep respect.

In that spirit, we honour the continuing connection First Nations peoples have to land, waters, skies, and culture — and we commit to creating riding experiences that are safe, inclusive, and grounded in respect for Country and community.
